Important Notes
If you have Public Beta 1, 2, 3/RC1, or RC2 installed: Be sure to completely uninstall your current version before installing RC2, which includes deleting the Jardinains 2! directory from your Program Files directory after you’ve run the uninstaller. If you don’t, things may not work properly!
The newer your computer, the better this will run. There are some strange graphics issues with older video cards, and you’ll be best off using a computer with hardware-accelerated 3D. Most modern computers (no more than 2 or 3 years old) will do this for you, but again: the newer, the better. On Linux, the game is unplayable without hardware-accelerated OpenGL. On Windows, you’ll need to have either OpenGL or DirectX 7 or higher installed; most Windows installations have DirectX by default. The game should run on Windows 98/ME, but it isn’t tested for these platforms.

The Linux version is unplayably slow unless you have hardware-accelerated OpenGL. Since you’re using Linux, I’m going to assume you know perfectly well what I’m talking about and are probably better prepared to enable hardware acceleration on Linux than I am.
